An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
