I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
